Relationship Resolutions

relationship-advice-soul-matesYou’re probably feeling the pressure to come up with a couple of personal New Year’s resolutions, but what about relationship resolutions?  When you think about the most important relationships in your life – with your partner, your kids, your parents, your friends, your coworkers, your siblings – what do you want to be different in 2013?

With your spouse or partner, maybe you want to improve communication, reduce conflict, or reignite intimacy.  These are worthy but challenging endeavors, and couples counseling may really help.

With your kids maybe you want to show more affection, explode less, be more consistent, or be more present.  Maybe you need to go to more school activities, eat healthier meals, or drink less alcohol.

With your friends, coworkers, and siblings, maybe you need to readjust some priorities, be more firm and confident, or be more warm and open.  Maybe you need to be less self-centered, more other focused, and more giving.

As you’re thinking about making changes this year, think about your relationships.  One small change in one important relationship really can make a world of difference.
