Frazier Woods Jr., LPC

from the beginning

Therapy shouldn’t just be a place to talk. It should be a place of transformation.

My work is about helping people move from where they are toward where they want to be. Sometimes that means resolving communication and relationship conflict. Sometimes it means navigating a difficult transition, working through emotional distress or worry, challenging the way you’ve been thinking, or learning to accept what you cannot change without allowing it to control your life.

I’ve helped individuals and couples resolve relationship and marital conflict, strengthen confidence and self-esteem, work through difficult transitions, and find peace with circumstances they could not change.

What makes my approach mine is pretty simple: I don’t try to be anyone else. I’m collaborative, personable, curious, engaged, and affirming. When I take the time to get to know you, I’m not just building rapport—I’m learning who you are and how I can best serve you. Your experiences, perspective, and goals matter because good therapy shouldn’t feel like something being done to you. We’re working together.

You don’t have to know whether I’m the right therapist for you before we meet. Give me one session. I’ll take it from there. And if we discover that I’m not the right fit, I still want to help you get the support you need to live the life you deserve.

Background:

My path to becoming a therapist didn’t start in a counseling office. It started in education. After a period of reflection about what I wanted the next chapter of my life to look like, I followed what I believed was a calling into clinical mental health counseling—and found work that genuinely fits who I am. Since graduating from Loyola University, I’ve worked with people navigating anxiety, depression, emotional distress, major life transitions, and relationship and marital conflict.

Outside of the office, I’m a husband, family guy, friend, and proud owner of two dogs who have somehow convinced us that the house belongs to them. I value good relationships, meaningful conversations, laughter, and time with the people who matter to me. It’s a privilege when someone trusts me enough to let me into their story. I take that responsibility seriously, but I also believe the story you walk in with doesn’t have to be the story you walk away with.
