Devin Farrell

from the beginning

Born into this world, we are bound to journey through a range of human experiences – some times joyful, other times hard. Navigating through the tough chapters in our lives may seem overwhelming or even impossible. So, what is it that keeps you going? By offering you a nonjudgmental, safe, and empowering space, together we can explore the meaning you prescribe to your existence, discover your strengths, uncover coping skills, and nurture your power to carve out a fulfilling life path.

While much of my experience involves working as an educator abroad and counseling within the school system, I invite individuals of all ages to explore their relationship with life and with themselves in a supportive environment. Starting the therapeutic process can feel intimidating, uncertain, or even a little scary. I welcome you to reach out for a consultation where you can test the waters of the counseling experience and the therapeutic relationship.

Background:

I was born and raised in the New Orleans Metropolitan Area where I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Loyola University New Orleans. Having a profound interest in the human experience as it relates to worldview, values, and culture, I began my professional journey teaching English as a Second Language in primary and secondary schools throughout Southeast Asia. During my years abroad, my respect and genuine care for people’s unique life experiences and beliefs blossomed even further. This is where I found myself back in the U.S. where I earned my Master’s in Counselor Education in December of 2023 from the University of New Orleans. During my master’s program, I provided counseling to children and adolescents within the school system where I focused on students’ social, emotional, and academic well-being. I am passionate about building a therapeutic bond, offering a safe and empathic space, and seeing others embrace the strength of seeking support. Oh … And in my free time I enjoy taking walks, reading, enjoying my husband’s home cooked meals, and snuggling with my two cats.
